Applied Energy Group, an Ameresco company, has an opening for an Analyst on the Planning and Program Design team of the Energy Consulting group. Energy Consulting provides advanced analytic and strategic consulting services to energy companies, utilities, governments, and non-profit organizations. Our talented, multidisciplinary staff provides comprehensive solutions to complex energy and sustainability problems. The primary role of this position involves analysis of energy usage, energy efficiency or demand response interventions, cost-effectiveness, utility customer experience or characterization, or other related energy analyses.

Responsibilities

Perform wide range of energy related analysis which may include: statistical analyses, analysis of fuel and utility bills, estimate energy efficiency savings and costs, measure engineering analysis, program benefit-cost analysis, program development and planning, evaluation analysis, market research, survey design, and secondary research;

Complete assigned tasks and analyses to project manager and manager’s satisfaction;

Prepare written reports and presentation materials and assist in the development of project deliverables;

Justify and document technical decisions related to research, planning, and data analysis;

Begin to build and maintain relationships with clients to maximize productivity and cultivate future opportunities;

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or quantitative related discipline;

1+ years of work experience in a consulting environment.

Preferred Requirements:

Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical software package (e.g., SAS, R, Stata, SPSS, or MATLAB);

Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects and work closely with other project team members;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain technical information to a lay audience;

Desire to develop existing and new skill sets in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with colleagues who take pride in their company and enjoy their work;

Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Public Policy, or related disciplines.

Experience with one or more programming languages, R, Stata, SQL, SAS, Python

1+ years of work experience in an energy-related field (strongly preferred).

Familiarity with evaluation, measurement and verification in energy or related environmental field.

Familiarity with program planning and design or program implementation in energy or related environmental field.

Task or project management experience
