Raytheon Vision Systems is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Analog and Digital Design Engineer to work on Electro Optical control and processing electronics product development for defense applications. The position will be located in Goleta, California.

The candidate is responsible for the design of advanced digital and analog electronics for Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) camera products. The candidate will join the RVS Electronics and Software Center organization, whose charter is to develop advanced electronics for visible, infrared, and LADAR camera systems. Candidate is expected to contribute to a design process that enables efficient design of digital / mixed signal electronics meeting the process rigor and design robustness required in an aerospace and defense environment. The candidate will work in the product development and test team environment with system, mechanical, and software engineers. Additionally, the candidate is responsible for managing tasks, budget and schedule as part of the larger integrated product team. This position is located in Goleta, CA. Relocation assistance is available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive background in Electronics with 5 years of relevant experience

  • Familiar with all aspects of circuit board design including but not limited to design architecture, schematic capture, circuit card layout (rigid and flex), CCA design for manufacturability (IPC6012, IPC2221, IPC-TM-650, etc)

  • Experience designing low voltage power systems, low noise analog front end amplifiers, control loops, and associated circuit modeling.

  • Experience performing design margin analysis including but not limited to Worst case circuit analysis, electronics stress analysis, and device margin analysis.

  • Experience with design tools for both digital and analog PWB design (i.e. Altium, Mentor, Pspice, Mentor Hyperlynx, other simulation tools, etc)

  • Experience working in an electronics lab environment working with equipment including but not limited to power supplies, oscilloscopes, customized test stations, test station software, etc.

  • Experience working with outside contract manufacturers (both printed wiring board suppliers and contract assembly houses)

  • Ability to manage costs, schedule, and project milestones and deliverables

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance 1 year after start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with PWB construction and design processes

  • Familiarity with EMI / EMC design methods and approaches

  • Familiarity with environmental testing requirements and methods for CCAs

  • Familiarity with Firmware design process

  • Familiarity with embedded and test level software development processes

  • Familiarity with engineering change control systems (i.e. Oracle Agile, Windchill, etc)

  • Team leadership experience (as technical lead and/or functional lead)

  • Strong team player with good verbal and written communication skills

Required Education (including Major):

Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience or a STEM degree and equivalent experience.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
