Job Summary

Join a legendary, 100-year-old food-manufacturing icon in the Fort Atkinson area that treats its employees like family and has the elite multi-decade retention to prove it. This 2nd-shift Ammonia Refrigeration Technician maintains high-capacity industrial ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems and heavy plant electrical infrastructure in an immaculate, safety-first, PSM-regulated food-grade plant — with a fixed, predictable schedule, zero travel, elite overtime (1.5x daily after 8 hrs, 2.0x Sundays), and fully funded RETA training/credentials

. Built for a specialized refrigeration professional tired of erratic on-call service routes, service-van miles, and volatile contractors.

Note: this is a heavy manufacturing infrastructure role — not a residential/commercial HVAC position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance, critical fault-tracing, and emergency breakdown repairs across high-capacity industrial ammonia refrigeration systems — evaporators, screw compressors, and condensing towers.

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex plant industrial electrical systems, 3-phase power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), and automated production-machinery controls.

  • Partner with the corporate environmental team to support absolute compliance with all Process Safety Management (PSM) blueprints and safety protocols.

  • Perform high-level industrial mechanical and facility-infrastructure maintenance to keep production lines running across 2nd shift.

  • Maintain detailed digital documentation of system readings, daily logs, and completed work orders for an immaculate, food-safe environment.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of verifiable, hands-on industrial ammonia refrigeration (NH₃) system maintenance —

    strict requirement

    .

  • 2+ years diagnosing industrial electrical networks, controls, and high-voltage distribution safely.

  • Familiarity with process-cooling loops (evaporators, screw compressors, condensing towers) and heavy plant electrical systems.

  • Absolute readiness for a permanent 2nd-shift, Monday–Friday schedule.

  • Rock-solid, stable, dependable employment history (long-term commitment).

  • Permanent residency within a 45-minute daily driving radius; US Citizen or Green Card holder (no sponsorship/relocation).

  • RETA certification (CARO or CIRO) is a strong plus — full corporate sponsorship guaranteed if you need to test for it.
