The Fabricator will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with great precision. This position is also responsible for the fitting and welding of steel aluminum parts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Determine specific welding requirements and set-up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• MIG weld steel, aluminum components based on provided specifications/ work orders.
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
• Follow, create, and help maintain Welding Procedure Specifications.
• Prepare product for shipment.
• Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30 pm
Friday if required 6 am -12 noon
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with steel or aluminum fabricating preferred
• Experience with MIG welding is highly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Job tasks might sometimes be performed in dusty, wet, hot, and/or cold outdoor weather working conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; frequently stand for long periods of time, climb or balance; and reach, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift, carry, and/or move up to 60 pounds and frequently push and pull up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
