About the Role

As a member of the Weld Team, you will be responsible for performing TIG welding to fabricate high-quality pontoons and related components. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to read and interpret work instructions and engineering drawings. Team members work collaboratively to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to company specifications.

What You’ll Do

  • Select and prepare appropriate materials for welding, considering specifications and project requirements.
  • Cut, shape, and fit metal components using tools such as grinders, saws, and cutting torches.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to execute precise welds.
  • Ensure the structural integrity and cosmetic quality of welded components.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to address and rectify any welding defects or discrepancies.
  • Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues for timely repairs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in welding techniques and equipment.
  • Stay informed about advancements in welding technology and methodology.
  • Follow all safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Requires aluminum TIG welding experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment, preferably in boat manufacturing.
  • Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Must have the ability to perform all physical requirementsrequiredfor the position, including but not limited to ability to stand, walk, push, pull, full range of motion, bend, kneel, climb, squat for 8+ hours and lift upward of 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive, team-first attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drugscreening
  • Indoor manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to varying conditions
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
