Working Hours: 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (½-hour unpaid lunch) 

Job Summary / Objective of Job 

This entry-level position is responsible for performing case blasting operations on transmission cases and related components to prepare them for inspection, rebuilding, and assembly. The Case Blast Technician operates blasting equipment to remove dirt, rust, paint, and other contaminants while ensuring components meet cleanliness and quality standards.

Attention to detail is essential, as components must be thoroughly cleaned, properly handled, and organized throughout the process. This position may also involve supporting additional duties within the production department as needed.

Essential Job Functions 

  • Operate case blasting equipment to clean transmission cases and related components
  • Remove dirt, grease, rust, paint, and other contaminants from parts
  • Inspect cases and components for cleanliness and identify any visible damage or defects
  • Load and unload blasting equipment safely and efficiently
  • Move materials and components between work areas to support production flow
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure components are prepared for the next stage of production
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of blasting equipment and work areas
  • Use hand tools and pneumatic tools as needed
  • Accurately identify and track units using work orders and production documentation
  • Cross-train on alternate assignments and support other duties within the production department as needed

Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of previous Allison experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience with production processes and operating basic tools/machinery
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay goal-focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of department-specific safe work practices
