This position is CONTINGENT on contract award. This position will work at the Fairchild AFB outside of Spokane, WA. We offer a strong benefits package and highly competitive wage.
The Aircraft Mechanic II – APG / Crew Chief performs KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, servicing, launch/recovery support, and documentation in support of organizational/intermediate/depot-level maintenance requirements at Fairchild AFB, WA with potential TDY support to other KC-135 locations as directed. The position supports general aircraft maintenance, flightline operations, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and aircraft forms documentation.
- Perform KC-135 aircraft general maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, servicing, launch, recovery, and documentation.
- Accomplish pre-flight, thru-flight, post-flight, scheduled, unscheduled, time-driven, and inspection-related maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot aircraft structures, landing gear, flight controls, engines, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical systems, auxiliary power, and related aircraft systems within assigned skill level.
- Perform aircraft servicing, lubrication, tire/brake checks, panel removal/installation, component replacement, operational checks, and general flightline maintenance tasks.
- Support aircraft towing, jacking, ground handling, marshaling, and use of ground support equipment as qualified and authorized.
- Interpret and apply technical orders, maintenance manuals, work instructions, service bulletins, drawings, and other approved technical data.
- Document maintenance actions in approved aircraft forms, records, logs, and Government maintenance systems.
- Use aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, measuring devices, and other approved equipment as required.
- Comply with Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, quality, security, and local operating requirements.
- Provide technical guidance or on-the-job training to less experienced mechanics as directed.
- Support TDY maintenance operations at other KC-135 locations as required.
Experience | - Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience on an Air Force wide-body platform, preferably KC-135, or equivalent experience is required.
- APG, crew chief, flightline maintenance, launch/recovery, servicing, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, and aircraft forms documentation experience is required.
- Experience using aircraft technical orders, maintenance manuals, and aircraft maintenance documentation systems is required.
- A&P certification is preferred but not required.

Licenses/ Certification/ Registration | - Must have a valid state driver’s license when required by job assignment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must possess and maintain a current Secret security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license if required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel, as required by the contract or task order.
- Must obtain all certifications and training required to perform assigned duties.
