This position is for the development and authoring of aircraft maintenance manuals for complex military aeronautics systems. It requires experience with aerospace technical publication maintenance manuals, commercial and military.

The successful candidate will be responsible to develop military aeronautics technical publications that may include flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and illustrated parts breakdown manuals, as well as maintenance Job Guides utilizing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS) in S1000D format. The candidate must be able to effectively work with multiple engineering, software, supportability, and logistics disciplines will lead to success in developing technical publications.

The successful candidate will be working under
general supervision and will develop/field technically accurate and MIL-STD
compliant technical documentation for
complex aircraft systems.

A level 1 employee Typically has 0 - 3 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Previous experience in technical publications, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and/or electronics engineering. This experience can be derived from prior military service or skills within the aerospace industry.

• Experience with aircraft maintenance documentation, including military specification requirements and logistic support concepts and/or be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and source data documentation.

Desired skills

• Ability to effectively work with multiple engineering, software, supportability, and logistics disciplines to develop highly accurate technical manuals.

• Ability to work multiple projects of varied size and scope.

• Familiar with technical authoring languages and specifications such as XML, SGML, and S1000D specification.

• Broad experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially MSWord, Arbortext, Adobe, CATIA software tools.

• Must be highly organized; process and detail oriented.

• Self starter and able to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $47,600 - $79,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
