Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Aircraft Machinist to support the Fabrication Team based out of Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of machining principles and tooling. A problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset to handle unexpected machining challenges is desired.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Run computer numerical control (CNC) and conventional machines (lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, etc.) to produce precision aerospace components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, models, and manufacturing instructions to meet exact specifications.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other tools to verify tolerances, dimensions, and surface finishes
  • Cut, shape, and finish metals, composites, and other aerospace-grade materials.
  • Configure machine setups, select tooling, and sometimes adjust or edit CNC programs to ensure optimal machining.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify malfunctions or deviations, and make adjustments to maintain quality.
  • Follow OSHA, Boeing safety rules, and quality-control standards to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with aerospace regulations
  • Record part measurements, process data, and inspection results in line with Boeing’s quality management system.
  • Work with engineers, quality inspectors, and production teams to solve problems, improve processes, and meet production schedules.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 1 year experience reading and interpreting machine code data (MCD).
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating CNC machines

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, electrical schematics, and reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings
  • Experience using manual mill and lathe machines.
  • Experience setting up and fixtures, operating, and programming CNC machines, i.e. with 3 and 5 axis CNC machines.
  • Experience setting up NC/CNC machines, including probing and using dial indicators to establish set points.
  • Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in a team environment.
