This position is within the Criteria, Loads and Dynamics team, part of the Air Mobility & Maritime Missions (AMMM) Structures organization and the Advanced Development Programs (ADP). This engineer will be a part of the team that produces Structural Design Criteria, External Design and Operational Loads, and Flutter/Dynamic Analyses for the C-130, C-5 and P-3 platforms as well as ADP. The candidate will have a significant understanding of fundamental technical principals, theories, and concepts with respect to aircraft external loads (Aerodynamics, Controls, Dynamics, Physics, Propulsion, Fluid Dynamics) and aircraft dynamics.
The candidate will be expected to work as a part of a team and will be expected to work independently with minimal oversight on assigned tasks
within a team environment.
The candidate will be considered a Subject Matter Expert in aircraft structural dynamics, to include: Flutter, Aircraft Dynamic Analysis (dynamic external loads), Vibration, Vibro-acoustics (acoustics, sonic fatigue). Operational Loads development is highly desired. Candidate should have extensive experience in aircraft structural dynamics of all types.
Additional duties include report writing, software design to assist in analyses, customer interface, test support, and interfacing with other disciplines (Stress, DADTA, Design, Flight Test, etc.).

This position is in Marietta, GA Discover Marietta.
7-9 years of experience in aircraft dynamics and/or flutter. Analytical as well as test support experience is required.
Dynamics experience should be in aircraft dynamics, LRU qualification, vibro-acoustics, flutter.
Familiarity with Structural Analysis, Aerodynamics, Dynamics/Vibration, and Control Theory (Flight Dynamics).
Experience dealing with external customers (military and private) is required.
Exposure and experience with UNIX operating system, Windows programming, VBA, FORTRAN and C++ is desired.
Experience with structural analysis and design software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, ABAQUS, CATIA V5 a plus.
Familiarity with aircraft load paths and stability of structure is strongly desired.

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $97,500 - $162,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
