The senior aviation component technical role is considered to be an expert and a leader. Personnel performing maintenance functions report to the Lead Technician and are responsible for performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles in accordance with current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instruction for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
A sample of duties includes but is not limited to:
- Diagnose difficult intermittent failures
- Lead major and/or complex repairs
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting
- Solid functional testing abilities
- Able to identify manual discrepancies
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Coordinate shop workflow schedule/functions/problems with the Lead Technician
- Work with Quality Manager to resolve/correct any maintenance related discrepancies.
- Ensure thorough familiarity with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their area of responsibility.
Education | - High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience | - A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation component repair is required.

Licenses/ Certification/ Registration | - Ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance required.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license desired.

Special knowledge, skills, & abilities | - Extensive aviation component experience

- Strong knowledge of aircraft component systems
- Proven independent production ability
- Excellent paperwork accuracy
- Must possess an excellent command of the English language with ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- In accordance with FAA Part 121 regulations, this position requires the employee to participate in a Department of Transportation (DOT) approved drug-testing program. The testing will be conducted by a drug-testing laboratory that is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), under the National Laboratory Certification Program.
