Pratt & Whitney Internship Program

Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. We’re looking for students with an engineer’s curiosity, an explorer’s heart, and a perfectionist’s grit to help us build the future of aerospace.

Whether supporting Mature Commercial Engines, our industry-leading Geared Turbofan engines, Military Engine programs, Operations, or Business Support functions, the objectives of our program are to help you to develop an understanding of our industry, our company, its operations, and how each discipline and department contributes to the success of our products and customer partnerships.

We’re Seeking Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Majors!

We are currently seeking students majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering to support disciplines across Pratt & Whitney. Mechanical and Aerospace engineers work in many diverse areas, including:

  • Quality and Manufacturing Engineering
  • Test, Repair, and Systems Engineering
  • Field Service and Customer Technical Support
  • And More!

In these internships, you’ll get exposure to and learn the technical assessments and analyses necessary to support the development, production, validation, implementation, and sustainment of engines flying across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analysis of internal air systems for aircraft gas turbines that meet aggressive design cycle time and component performance targets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in an applicable field of study (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field)
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Have earned a minimum of 30 college credits at the start of the assignment
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder due to government contracts
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative
  • A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges
  • Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share your knowledge with others

What is my role type?

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
