When it comes to environmental consulting, we are focused on challenging today and re-inventing tomorrow. As our compliance and permitting work continues to grow, we have an immediate need for an experienced Environmental Engineer or Scientist to lead or support the development and implementation of air quality compliance, permitting, emission inventories, federal NSPS and NESHAPs regulatory experience, while developing innovative solutions for our clients. In addition to preparing technical deliverables to clients and agencies, an ideal candidate would have an understanding of air quality dispersion modeling experience, which may include modeling programs such as AERSCREEN, AERMOD, HARP2, and CALPUFF. Programming experience with fortran, R-Code, or Python is a plus.

Based in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll have the opportunity to be assigned an office in either San Jose, Oakland, or Sacramento, California; Portland, Oregon; or Seattle, Washington. This position allows flexibility in a location of your choosing with the understanding that this position will require a hybrid work approach at both your personal home office as well as an assigned Jacobs office location. You’ll have the opportunity to support air quality multi-media compliance, permitting, and dispersion modeling. Additionally, you will work with and mentor junior staff, other multi-media environmental projects, regulatory strategy, compliance and permitting. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or other related field from a U.S. accredited college or university.

• Experience as an air quality practitioner in regulatory compliance in industry or in a consulting environment

• Understanding of federal/State environmental regulations

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Ability to drive projects to completion on time and on budget

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to mentor and train junior staff

• Proficiency developing modeling inputs for air dispersion models including AERMOD

• Programming experience with fortran, R-Code, or Python.

• Experience in the use of GIS tools
