The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate or Experienced Industrial Engineer to support Air Proprietary Supply Chain Integration in the St. Louis, MO area.

Position Overview: As an Industrial Engineer within Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in the St. Louis region, you will apply industrial engineering concepts and techniques to optimize products, processes, and services that meet program requirements. You will work with cross-functional teams to integrate systems, tools and processes to define, develop and improve the production system. You may work on developing plant layouts, capacity plans, and workflows, evaluate and integrate new technologies into production and service operations, and support execution planning to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing outcomes. This role includes a strong emphasis on supply chain integration to ensure seamless end-to-end flow of materials and information.

Position Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and optimize production systems by integrating product design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
• Conduct workflow design and analysis to enhance operational efficiency and improve quality.
• Develop models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics to leaders and customers.
• Research, design, and implement processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Prepare operations plans, including budgeting, capacity analysis, and production change management to meet technical goals.
• Support execution planning through project management, planning, scheduling, and shop load practices.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines.
• Integrate supply chain considerations into production planning, including supplier capacity alignment, material flow optimization, and inventory strategy to minimize risk and support on-time delivery.
• Partner with procurement, suppliers, logistics, and operations teams to develop resilient supply chain solutions, manage lead-times, and implement supplier performance metrics.
• Leverage data and digital tools to improve demand-supply visibility, reduce supply variability, and enable continuous improvement across the value stream.
• Partner closely with manufacturing assembly technicians and cross-functional teams to stabilize and improve manufacturing performance. applies, this job family will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• 2+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

• (Level 3) 5+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education. 2+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing practices. 2+ years of experience leading and partnering with all key functions in an integrator/lead role. Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement and practical experience stabilizing and improving manufacturing processes. Experience working closely with manufacturing assembly technicians and supporting their efforts on the shop floor. Experience integrating supply chain activities into production planning (supplier management, inventory optimization, demand-supply balancing). Familiarity with supply chain and planning tools such as ERP systems, APS, or supplier portals and analytics tools like Minitab, JMP, or other data visualization platforms.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Level 2: $83,300 - $112,700

Level 3: $100,300 - $135,700
