The AI/ML Software Engineer/Research Scientist provides research, planning, design, and creates prototypes to validate new concepts and ideas. Core functions and responsibilities include researching new concepts and technologies, building proof of concepts, educating customers and assisting in testing and evaluating new concepts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with client leadership on researching and evaluating new concepts and ideas.

  • Design and build proof-of-concepts based on current technologies utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms.

  • Perform market research to identify methods and technologies that can support business needs.

  • Create and deliver professional presentations designed for team members and critical stakeholders.

  • Generate effective written reports and/or publications that summarize key data and project updates.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with developing and implementing AI and ML algorithms.

  • Experience with at least one of the following machine learning libraries: PyTorch , TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or Karas

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 3-5+ years of related work experience.

  • Demonstrated research skills with a wide range of techniques and methodologies.

  • Ability to build prototypes and systems with knowledge of all steps within the design process: conception, planning, initiation, and implementation.

  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Experience working with Open Source Software.

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Bash/Shell Scripting, or C++.

  • Understanding of both Relational and modern databases and corresponding query language such as SQL.

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as being a team player.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to create professional presentations and present to peers and management. Effective written and verbal communication skills adapted to the intended audience.

  • Position requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • Secret Clearance Required

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with ROS programming, and various robotics and/or system hardware preferred.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
