SCOPE:
Heartland Food Products Group is searching for a qualified Farm Equipment Operator for the Splenda Stevia Farm in Archer, Florida. This is a full-time, year-round position with a growing specialty crop operation. The ideal candidate will have solid farm equipment operating experience, good mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while also being part of a team. This person will be involved in day-to-day field operations, including tractor work, cultivation, irrigation support, harvest support, and general farm duties. This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on production agriculture, takes pride in doing quality fieldwork, and wants to be part of a developing farm operation with long-term growth potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Farm Equipment Operator will assist with crop production, field operations, equipment operation, irrigation, and harvest-related work throughout the year.
Responsibilities include:
• Operate tractors, implements, harvest equipment, and other farm machinery
• Assist with planting/transplanting, cultivation, spraying support, crop maintenance, and harvest operations
• Help with center pivot irrigation checks, water management, and basic irrigation troubleshooting
• Monitor equipment performance and report needed repairs or maintenance
• Perform basic equipment service and daily maintenance checks
• Assist with field preparation and general crop production tasks
• Help move equipment, trailers, supplies, and materials as needed
• Work safely and efficiently during busy production and harvest windows
• Communicate with management regarding field conditions, equipment concerns, and crop needs
• Assist with general farm maintenance, cleanup, and other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous farm equipment operating experience
• Ability to operate tractors, implements, and general farm machinery
• Experience with cultivation, crop maintenance, or harvest support preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to help with equipment maintenance
• Irrigation experience, especially with center pivots, is a plus
• Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision
• Willingness to work longer hours and some weekends during busy seasons
• Good communication skills
• Dependable, organized, and safety-minded work habits
• Valid driver’s license preferred
