The Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Agile Delivery Team at Moderna as we continue to support our growing technical development & global automation capabilities.

The Agile Project Manager for Data and Informatics Operations will partner with Product Management and Platform Engineering communities to accelerate delivery and execution across multiple business units related initiatives relating to Moderna’s digital products, capabilities, and services.

As the Agile Project Manager, you will lead dedicated teams to deliver business value through capability development and value execution. Bringing a collaborative mindset to the table, you must be able to build trusted relationships with the teams and with their stakeholders to ensure the needs of all team members are met.

This role can be based in Moderna’s Norwood or Cambridge, MA office.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Ensure successful delivery of large impact and/or cross-functional initiatives by assisting in the identification and resolution of team impediments

  • Drive cross-functional teams to plan, execute and deliver the projects by working with the product team for the next-generation solutions

  • Manage project conflicts, challenges and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance.

  • Drive team sprint execution, communicate with management and stakeholders, protect the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)

  • Lead team effort in relentless improvement, define and implement improvement stories to increase the velocity and quality of the program Implement and support principles, rules and processes

  • Build and leverage effective alliances across other teams and the technical and business communities.

  • Guide product management teams in their role, defining MVP's, developing product charters, product community maps, product roadmaps and release plans, story mapping, writing stories and backlog prioritization and management

  • Serve as an Agile subject matter expert (SME), promoting learning in others and providing coaching and insight to cross-functional partners

  • Maintain team data in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and project management software (Smartsheet) to support estimates and execution

  • May also play a scrum-of-scrum role, managing the flow of work through an entire Circle rather than on an individual team or teams.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business, or a minimum of 6 years of equivalent work experience in a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in a full-time Agile Project Manager/Scrum Master role in an enterprise-level environment involving multiple scrum teams

  • Strong and demonstrated experience using the fundamentals of Agile development including measurable process improvement

  • Ability to interact professionally and confidently with colleagues at all levels, including senior and executive management with clear and confident communication and presentation skills

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or other accredited professional Scrum Master certification preferred. If you don't have one, we can offer this as a training opportunity.
