Aftermarket Quality Engineering Development Program (AQDP)

The P&W Aftermarket Quality Development Program (AQDP) is a two-year rotational program targeted at new college graduates to prepare them for a career in aftermarket quality at P&W. Development occurs via technical training and customized on-the-job assignments. As part of the program, associates get three unique and challenging rotational assignments of eight-month duration within the domestic overhaul and component repair facilities.

Upon completion of this program, the new associate will have a solid base in aftermarket quality systems, overhaul processes, federal aviation guidelines and compliance, material review, gages and inspection, continuous improvement, Kaizen, six sigma tools, lean manufacturing and our CORE Operating System. Through the hands-on rotational assignments, individuals will not only develop a solid knowledge base on aftermarket quality and our products, but also be exposed to a vast range of networking and leadership experiences and have access to senior and executive leadership team members to provide professional guidance and personal mentoring.

At the conclusion of the program, graduates will be prepared to assume a Quality Engineer assignment at one of Pratt & Whitney's U.S. Aftermarket business units. Potential assignment locations:

East Hartford, Connecticut

Lansing, Michigan

North Berwick, Maine

Grand Prairie, Texas

Springdale, Arkansas

Columbus, GA

West Palm Beach, Florida

To qualify for this position, you are expected to graduate in Dec 2022 or May 2023 only.

Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • You have a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferred fields of study are Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical or Materials Engineering with a strong interest in Quality and Manufacturing
  • You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level technical co-op/internship experience
  • You have a real passion for learning and pursuing a career in Aftermarket Operations
  • You are highly adaptable, flexible and willing to relocate
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and consistent record of collaboration, flexibility, innovation and initiative
  • You have a strong demonstrated desire for a career in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, shop personnel and outside vendors
  • You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs
  • You work independently or with multi-functional teams
  • You have hands-on experience with strong structured project management and dynamic problem solving with the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas
  • You have had an introduction to quality principles and tools

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
