Pay Rate: $21.55 - $27.00/hr. (Target Pay: $21.00 - $24.00/hr.)

Schedule:

Day Shift: Monday – Thursday | 10-Hour Shifts (Start Time: 3:30 AM – 4:00 AM)

Swing Shift: Monday – Thursday | 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM

Openings: 4 (2 Day Shift | 2 Swing Shift)

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship Required

Skills Required:

Primary (Must-Have):

  • U.S. Citizen
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Welding Technology Degree or Welding Certificate (Required)
  • Entry-level TIG welding knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld schedules, sketches, and technical drawings
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of welding safety procedures and quality standards
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to welding
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Position Overview

The Aerospace TIG Welder I is responsible for performing precision TIG welding on sheet metal aircraft components in accordance with engineering drawings, weld schedules, and manufacturing specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level welders with a Welding Technology degree to begin a career in the aerospace industry while receiving specialized TIG welding training.

The successful candidate will work with titanium and nickel alloys, perform quality inspections, and contribute to the production of high-quality aerospace components while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on aerospace sheet metal components following written procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Prepare weld surfaces before welding operations.
  • Weld thin-gauge titanium and nickel alloy materials.
  • Interpret weld schedules, blueprints, sketches, and technical documentation.
  • Visually and dimensionally inspect completed welds for quality and compliance.
  • Perform fitting and assembly of welded components.
  • Repair welded components as required.
  • Complete routine and advanced welding tasks while following standard manufacturing procedures.
  • Successfully complete the company's TIG Welding Training Program or demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Obtain and maintain required welding qualifications and certifications, including Fillet Welding.
  • Evaluate product quality and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain production efficiency while meeting quality standards.
  • Utilize GD&T principles when interpreting engineering documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with production teams and seek guidance when clarification is needed.
  • Assist in training other employees based on experience when applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Welding Technology Degree or Welding Certificate is required.
  • Basic TIG welding knowledge.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding documentation.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform welding-related mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience TIG welding titanium or nickel alloys.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Fillet Welding Certification.
  • Experience working with precision measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and manufacturing practices.
  • Graduation from accredited welding programs such as Lake Washington Institute of Technology, South Seattle College, Green River College, or equivalent.
