Pay: $27.00–$32.25 per hour

Schedule: 1st Shift

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a growing manufacturing operation in Southwick, MA. This position will be responsible for inspecting precision-manufactured components to ensure they meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, and established quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have several years of manufacturing inspection experience, strong blueprint-reading abilities, and hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment. Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on a variety of manufactured components.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and components received from outside processes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, operation sheets, and work instructions.
  • Utilize precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gage blocks, thread gages, and go/no-go gages.
  • Record inspection results and maintain documentation within an ERP system.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality issues and prepare Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Verify that parts meet required dimensional and quality specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Follow established inspection procedures, processes, and work instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work independently while communicating effectively with production and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school education preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing inspection experience.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Experience preparing NCRs and other quality-related documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify dimensional and quality issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow setup instructions and operate basic machine controls.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to machine noise, moving equipment, metal parts, oils, cutting fluids, dust, fumes, and forklifts. Appropriate PPE is required.

The position may involve standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and sitting for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may also be required.
