Applied Composites (AC) is seeking an Aerospace Materials Lab Technician supports the evaluation, testing, and qualification of materials used in aerospace structures and components. This role performs mechanical, chemical, and physical testing in accordance with aerospace standards to ensure materials meet engineering, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Job Accountabilities:
- Prepare, condition, and test metallic and non-metallic materials (composites)
- Conduct mechanical testing utilizing universal testing machine
- Perform physical and environmental testing of raw materials and part coupons
- Assist with materials characterization and reverse engineering
- Follow aerospace standards and procedures (AS9100 and NADCAP)
- Accurately record test data, analyze results, and generate technical reports
- Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and safety compliance
- Collaborate with engineers, quality, and manufacturing teams
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspaces
- Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, and components on all types of standard and special products, to insure alignment with product requirements and quality standards
- Maintains documentation records and data on tests performed
- Sets up and builds test coupons to facilitate testing and/or evaluation as needed.
- Read and follow work instructions.
- Perform dimensional measurements with instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height stands, indicators, gage pins, depth gage, protractor, and other gages as required.
- Performs inspections including precision weighing and measuring.
- Use fixtures to accurately fit and test components.
- Use Microsoft office suite and Microsoft Teams.
- Actively demonstrates all safety policies and procedures.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work additional hours or weekends, as necessary.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Education: Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements only.
Years’ Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Familiarity with mechanical testing equipment and lab instrumentation
- Ability to read engineering drawings, test specifications, and technical procedures
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Basic computer skills (Excel, lab data systems, reporting software)
- Experience in aerospace or defense industry
- Knowledge of composite materials testing
- Familiarity with NADCAP or FAA-regulated environments
- Skilled at performing examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components, and parts on all types of standard and special products.
- Experience with blueprints, drawings, and parts lists.
