Job Description:
Parsons' growing Space and Geospatial Solutions team is seeking a sharp Aerospace Engineer to support astrodynamics analyses and support space modeling, simulation, and analysis. You will work with highly customizable, physics-based modeling frameworks used to support system design, development, integration, test, training and rehearsals.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for astrodynamics analyses and methodologies, algorithm development, space system requirements analysis.
- Support missions & programs by creating models, simulations, and analysis tools to support space analysis activities.
- Work closely with mission partners to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and other analyses performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, and operations.
- The candidate will work with software development teams to implement and validate models, ultimately resulting in user capabilities.
- Facilitate the development of algorithms and processes, enhance current tool capabilities through plugin development, and perform analyses.
- Consultative interaction with customers and mission partners providing guidance to project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables while working with senior technical personnel.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience with a BS OR 12+ years of experience with a AA/AS
- COTS Software engineering and integration with heavy C++ development
- Clearable to a Top Secret/SCI security clearance level
Desired Qualifications:
- Consultative mindset with adaptable problem solving skills
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Effective organization level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Experience in supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis of national security space related problems desired
- System Engineering Modeling Tools such as Cameo or Sparx
- Experience with C++, MATLAB, Python, Java, Parallel Computing, UNIX/Linux
- Experience with both Waterfall and Agile approaches to Systems Engineering
- Experience working with software development teams and associated SAFe Agile development processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
This position pays a minimum annual salary of $92,200.00 and a maximum annual salary of $161,400.00.
