Job Overview:

1st & 2nd Shift CNC Machinist (Lathe & Mill)

Location: Chester, CT 06412

Hire Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift Available

Starting base pay: $30.25–$35.00/hr (plus optional 2nd shift differential)

Overtime: Optional OT hours available

Shift Schedule

1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM

15% Shift Differential

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to operate and set up CNC lathes and/or 4- and 5-axis CNC mills producing precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate has aerospace machining experience, can troubleshoot machining issues, and takes pride in producing high-quality parts that meet tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and/or 4- and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Perform complete machine setups using setup sheets and work instructions.
  • Install and align fixtures, vises, rotary tables, boring jaws, face plates, and other workholding devices.
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and make machine offsets or adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues to maintain quality and production efficiency.
  • Replace tooling and adjust machine parameters as necessary.
  • Machine complex aerospace components to precise specifications and close tolerances.
  • Maintain quality standards while following all safety and company procedures.
  • Work independently and effectively manage daily production requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience machining aerospace components is required.
  • Experience operating CNC lathes and/or 4- and 5-axis CNC mills.
  • Strong machine setup experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues.
  • Experience producing precision parts with tight tolerances.
  • Ability to read setup documentation and manufacturing instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30.25–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, direct-hire opportunity.
  • Four-day work week (Monday–Thursday).
  • Three-day weekends every week.
  • Weekly overtime available.
  • 15% shift differential for 2nd shift.
