Job Title: HSE Advisor
Location: Conroe, Texas
Position Summary:
The HSE Advisor will support HSE related activities for the Company’s operations. The position will support the company’s health, safety, environmental and compliance program oversight and performing related activities for the organization. This position assists to ensure that HSE risks are managed according to Company policies, standards and processes, industry’s best practices and standards, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Relevant Tasks:
Promote visible and proactive participation in HSE activities including risk assessments, audits, HSE Meetings and onsite work activities and job planning
Aid with development and facilitation of HSE training plans and specific training needs, provide training, as appropriate
Work with the Operational Teams to ensure effective use of best practices and consistency in approach to HSE responsibilities
Aid with promoting a risk-based approach to HSE management using Company policies, standards, and processes for all operational activities
Provide HSE support, coaching and training at all levels including promoting Company’s commitment to HSE culture for all workers
Plan and take part in HSE audits/reviews of operations and related assigned areas to ensure proper implementation and compliance
Support the implementation and achievement of HSE objectives and performance measures during all operational activities
Ensure compliance with systems for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking, and reporting HSE performance data (e.g. Incident report findings, Audit actions, and related HSE metrics)
Complete HSE reports for area of responsibility and support operational meetings and reviews
Participate in the facilitation of medical care management, including employee interviews and frequent face-to-face follow-ups to ensure compliance with 3rd party medical recommendations
Job Requirements:
Aid with the applicable regulatory resources and requirements associated with HSE and environmental
Proficiency in emergency response support of coworkers as needed, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and other added tasks as assigned
Aid with understanding and communicating regulations, risk management and risk assessment skills
Assist with HSE auditing, incident investigation and documentation techniques
Proficiency with written and email communication including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Experience with 3rd party data reporting systems such as ISNetworld and PEC (Veri force)
Experience with different platform systems, Incident Management System, Microsoft applications such as Teams, Microsoft Management Systems etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Highschool diploma, certificate or equivalent required
One year experience in HSE role or related experience
Must have valid state-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive Company vehicles including ability to meet requirements of Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year college degree in HSE or related field of study
Additional Details:
This position requires work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while using designated personal protective equipment (PPE). The candidate must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. They must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines including potential emergency response situations. They must be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days, and occasionally nights, weekends and holidays.
