Zebra is seeking an Advanced Technical Communications Specialist to join our Robotics and Automation Team. You will be responsible for communicating technical information to end users of Fetch Robotics (Zebra) Robots. You will work with robotic products, and applications using writing, editing, design, illustration, and multimedia skills.

Responsibilities

• Researches, writes, illustrates, edits and publishes deliverables for technically complex projects following generally accepted Technical Communication standards.
• Under limited supervision, follows the Engineering and TechPubs Specifications to complete the assigned deliverables within the specified timeframe.
• Follows Style, Template, and Branding Guidelines to comply with Zebra and TechPubs
• Works closely with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to research and develop content.
• Works with Product Managers to determine the deliverables, the audience, and the required timelines for a project of limited scope.
• Publishes deliverables to multiple formats, including print, online, and mobile outputs.
• Ensures project deliverables are loaded into information management systems as appropriate.
• Performs audience analysis (when possible) to determine format of deliverable.
• May edit deliverables of other team members.
• Analyzes and implements the best approach to solving presentation problems.
• Manages translations as required by project.
• Makes recommendations to management for new tools and deliverable formats.
• Develops and documents processes, including APIs.
• May train more junior staff in tools and processes.
• May direct the work of external contractors as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• Advanced understanding of tools used in design and delivery of technical communications.

Preferred Qualification

• Must have experience with Hereto. 
• Strong professional work behaviors –accountability, teamwork, attention to detail.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly translate highly technical information into easily used and understandable text and illustrations.
• Familiarity with graphic illustration software.
• Aptitude for technology.
