This position is for a first line manager for approximately fifteen engineers supporting the Advanced Simulation Center (ASC). The ASC has a distinguished history in research and development of simulation for military training. Today, the ASC performs research and development in areas like applying augmented reality, biometric instrumentation, and video after action review to small unit training, integrating live-virtual-constructive (LVC) simulation exercises, and applying web-based “sandtables” for wargaming and situational awareness. Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment, developing training plans, working with employees to develop career plans and employee performance monitoring and reviews. The selected individual will be responsible for guiding the team through a cultural transformation from classical engineering groups to a combined Integrated Engineering team. As an Integrated Engineering Manager, you will be expected to facilitate the deployment and use of best practices, tools, and processes on our programs and work with the Engineering Program Managers (EPMs) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to ensure projects are staffed properly and the organization’s staff is meeting all business commitments.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field plus relevant work experience
• Knowledgeable in Systems/Software/Hardware Engineering or Configuration and Data Management Processes and Tools
• Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience planning and coordinating systems/software/hardware development in a team-oriented environment

Desired skills

• Proven leadership experience in engineering assignments and successful proven results in leading and executing on programs
• Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using C++ and C#.
• CAM Experience
• Virtual reality experience
• Working knowledge of Agile, Atlassian tool suite, Model Based Engineering (MBE)
• Prior experience with SysML and/or UML
• Aviation/flight/aircraft knowledge
• Familiarity with functional Engineering processes, including performance appraisals, promotion planning, employee mentoring, and hiring

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $102,400 - $170,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
