Job Description
The Advanced Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the product development and manufacturing processes. This individual will be responsible for leading advanced quality planning initiatives, implementing continuous improvement measures, and driving root cause analysis to resolve quality issues. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of automotive quality standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
What You Will Do:
Lead APQP activities for new product launches, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and automotive quality standards.
Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and other APQP documentation.
Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify and mitigate quality risks early in the product development process.
Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards in all stages of the manufacturing process.
Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with quality specifications and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in product design and manufacturing processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction through the application of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Drive initiatives to optimize quality control processes and enhance product reliability.
Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Utilize statistical methods and tools to analyze manufacturing and quality data.
Establish and maintain comprehensive data management systems to track and report key quality metrics.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
Conduct supplier audits and collaborate with vendors to address quality issues and improve overall supply chain quality.
Participate in advanced quality planning activities for new product launches.
Develop and review control plans, FMEAs, and other quality-related documents to ensure proactive quality measures are in place.
Provide training to production and quality control teams on quality standards, processes, and tools.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness among team members.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in quality management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field highly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role with preference around robotics.
Strong understanding of quality management systems, statistical methods, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with new product launch, including pilot procedures.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Familiarity with quality tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and Control Plans.
