Job Summary

As an Advanced Manufacturing Technology Engineer Intern you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team under the guidance of a supervisor or engineer and performing the following activities: Support advanced manufacturing technology development by identifying, analyzing, designing, testing and validating of new materials, new processes, new tooling and equipment used in medical devices. In addition, the intern will assist engineers to coordinate and interface with external suppliers for any development activities in relation to new manufacturing technology.  Also, the intern will provide support to process improvement projects that are related to new manufacturing technology.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Apply engineering skills to identify technical solutions for business needs
• Communicate effectively with team members to develop and optimize manufacturing processes
• Collect and analyze test results
• Complete work assignments based on the project timeline
• Regular attendance of meeting is an essential job function

Education and Experience 

• Current enrollment in Engineering or Science discipline major at accredited 4 year university
• Demonstrated ability to develop processes and design tooling, define process controls, validate process and determine process capability.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technology and materials science preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD modeling and drafting (i.e. SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Basic knowledge of GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and design of experiments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Able to manage multiple assignments.
• Able to read production drawings
• Strong problem-solving, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and self-motivated
