Position Summary:

Bio-Techne is seeking an Advanced Data Specialist to manage product data in various business systems.  This role will liaise with Sales Managers, Product Managers, and Digital Solutions teams to perform data cleansing, migration, audit and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy, and will participate in efforts to improve current data management processes and deliver sustainable solutions. This candidate will also evaluate current processes, develop recommendations for improvements and work with the necessary teams to implement.

The successful candidate will need to have hands-on knowledge and experience with Data migration and Data Import & Export to Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Databases, with high attention to task details. As this position will work closely with cross-functional teams and on different business applications, excellent communication skills are a must.


  • Import and Export data from Salesforce CRM, Microsoft databases utilizing the native and Third-Party tools
  • Work with eCommerce team to publish data and ensure accuracy
  • Data cleansing using Excel,.csv files and other data tools
  • Collaborate with Business Partners to deliver solutions in a timely manner
  • Create and manage data import/export metrics for ad hoc business requests
  • Identify solutions that can help optimize existing Data import and export processes for the Internal Teams
  • Provide technology and data support
  • Collate and verify data from multiple sources
  • Assist with the development, creation and implementation of automation, process improvement and overall efficiency initiatives
  • Will work to become an expert on corporate software tools including ServiceNow, Salesforce and Master Data Management
  • Perform daily tasks as well as project work such as data analysis of all data systems specific to the Spatial Biology Division
  • Verify and extra data from hardcopy and other digital sources
  • Perform regular data integrity and quality audits
  • Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for diagnosis and prediction
  • Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
  • Analyzes and defines requirements and translates them into clear and concise system requirements. Effectively communicates requirements to the development team during project discovery through implementation.  Utilize outcome driven analysis to determine Minimum Viable Product.
  • Understands the company vision and can relate this vision to specific business and system requirement details. Ensure solutions identified map back to the business “what” and “why”.


  • Work experience with Salesforce CRM, Data Tools
  • Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.
  • Basic understanding of product attributes and quality management concepts
  • Hands on experience with data migrations and Salesforce CRM
  • Experience creating reports using Salesforce CRM / Excel
  • Strong time management skills with high attention to detail
  • Awareness and exposure to Agile methodology is a plus
  • Computer literate and proficient in standard office applications Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong communications skills to manage data inquiries and issues, and work with various teams to get issues resolved
  • Good eye for detail and Meticulous approach to information verification
  • Ability to work independently on projects
  • Knowledge of computer hardware systems and peripherals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with end-user training and support
  • Strong decision maker with the ability to build a business case to support recommendations
  • Ability to work cooperatively individually and within a group.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and respond to multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)

Ability to work on evenings and weekends if needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, data analytics, computer science or equivalent experience.
