About the Role:

The Advance Manufacturing Manager will lead and oversee the implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, quality, and scalability within the organization. This role is pivotal in driving innovation by integrating advanced technologies such as automation, robotics, and data analytics into manufacturing operations. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to ensure seamless execution of manufacturing strategies. They will be responsible for continuous improvement initiatives that reduce costs, improve throughput, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Ultimately, this position aims to position the company as a leader in advanced manufacturing by fostering a culture of operational excellence and technological advancement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with manufacturing to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.
  • Leads the maintenance department and manufacturing engineer group, ensuring facilities and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations
  • Process all necessary documentation and maintain records of studies and recommendations for improvements
  • Identifies, recommends and executes manufacturing process improvements and confers with management to implement plans and recommendations
  • Conduct cost comparison studies, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, production routing procedures, to determine efficient utilization of equipment
  • Examine equipment determining the ideation and justification for needs of improvement
  • Oversee the development of new processes, methods, and production controls
  • Designs tools and fixtures used to manufacture products
  • Assists with, or oversees installation, commissioning and run off of new or relocated machinery/systems. 
  • Monitors and improves productivity using Lean, Six Sigma or related tools, ensuring all customer commitments are met with quality products.
  • Solves complex problems with development of integrated manufacturing systems, standardized processes and templates, risk assessment and mitigation, and after-action reviews.
  • Maintain consistency for all Safety efforts throughout the Company and communicate with plant supervision any deviations of safety procedures
  • This position requires travel to all facilities in Wisconsin.
  • Other duties as assigned by operational leaders.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial/ manufacturing engineering 
  • 5-10 years of experience working with manufacturing processes and equipment

 

Other Skills 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAM and other design software systems
  • Familiarity with Robotics, CNC programming/operation and other manufacturing technologies
  • Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power equipment, and diverse manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
  • Solid understanding of quality and safety principles
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
