Immediate Opening: Production Control Specialist

OKAY Industries, Inc. is currently seeking applicants for the position of Production Control Specialist. We are a high volume, dynamic, expanding organization using various technologies in the manufacture of medical device components and assemblies. This position reports to the Director of Operations and is located at our manufacturing operations in Berlin, CT.

For this role, we are seeking a passionate, results-oriented individual who has 8+ years’ experience in the planning and scheduling of production activities in a high volume, multi process manufacturing environment. Initial focus will be working alongside the Production Control Supervisor in the development and implementation of MRP/PRP/Finite Scheduling activities utilizing our ERP system. Sustainment via planning and execution to follow for consistent on-time delivery performance of 100%. Applicants should be analytical and organized. They must have a talent for technology and a thirst for utilizing it to achieve a robust, streamlined planning process that is adaptable to planned/unplanned changes. Applicants must also possess a tenacious/can do attitude and be a highly effective communicator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for 100% on time delivery of products to customers.
• Foster strong relationship facility wide based on honesty and trust.
• Develop MRP/PRP/Finite Scheduling implementation plan utilizing ERP system.
• Facilitate the execution of the implementation plan companywide (2 sites).
• Document procedures to support standardization in MRP/PRP/Finite Scheduling processes.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure proper level of raw materials are on hand/on order.
• Monitor and manage the movement of WIP including external processing and inter-plant transfers.
• Coordinate with outside suppliers on timing/product needs.
• Monitor inventory status and ensure 99% accuracy of reported vs. actual.
• Communicate with Customer Service on product delivery plans/updates.
• Escalate issues/actions to proper authority to ensure 100% on time delivery is achieve.
• Analyze backlog and formulate plan to become current.
• Investigate cause and identify/implement corrective actions in response to late deliveries.
• Identify training needs/gaps and develop plans to ensure current and newly hired employees have the knowledge needed to properly make inventory/production transactions.
• Support New Product Development Group resource needs to achieve 100% on time delivery of project milestones.
• Participate in equipment capacity planning activities based on long term plan.
• Identify capital project and provide to Sr. Leadership for annual capital investment analysis.
Job Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in the Production Control discipline
• Experience in MRP/PRP/Finite Scheduling
• Skilled in Microsoft 365 suite of products
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to develop logical, documented plans
• Ability to bring people together in the spirit of teamwork.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in metals manufacturing (machining, grinding, etc.)
• Six Sigma Black Belt
