Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable/Cash Application Specialist is responsible for handling, processing cash receipts in order to ensure prompt and accurate application of customer cash receipts in an environment that handles both automated and manual cash application processes. The position is also responsible for handling the processing and coding of offsets, deductions and assist with distributor reconciliations. This will require a professional with excellent problem solving skills and experience in accounts receivable cash applications as well as require the ability to participate in a collaborative work environment and balance financial goals with support for the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Applies ACH and W/T payments to customer accounts via Autocash in JD Edwards
  • Researches and resolves payment discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales; trade promotions / rebates; sales support departments and from customers
  • Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjustments to customer accounts.
  • Follows departmental procedures to resolve invalid and unauthorized deductions made by customers
  • Follows-up on customer request for invoice copies, proofs of delivery, etc. to help facilitate collection of outstanding A/R
  • Uploads lock box cash receipts from bank website; clears any exceptions; and posts to customer accounts
  • Provides customers with periodic A/R aging reports to facilitate collection efforts
  • Promotes the spirit of teamwork and personal accountability in the performance of other duties and responsibilities as requested by department supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School or GED - Required
  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) - Preferred

Work Experience

  • 2 years or more relevant accounts receivable experience - Required
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry - Preferred
