General summary of the position

Credit Collections clerk in a multi-business unit corporate office comprised of 1-Director, 1-Supervisor, 4-Analysts, and 2-Clerks; responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all accounts receivable. This position is responsible for invoicing in American Contractor and Prelude, answering phones and directing calls.

essential functions

•      Assist with Cash Receipts Posting: Responsible for processing, reconciling and applying daily deposits in various operating systems.  Together with all A/R functions related to Adjustments, NSF Chargebacks, and Write-Off’s.

•      Process credit applications:  Acquire credit reports, acquire public record reports, prepare   submittal package for review. Enter approved applications into various operating systems. Send approved or denied letter to applicants.

•      Process Preliminary filings through vendor’s website, presently NCS. Update subject account job notes in various systems.

•      All tasks above including but not limited to: Redirecting all daily inbound AR Dept emails, updating Authorized Buyers, COI information, upload resale certificates through vendor’s website, presently AVALARA, process customer refunds, updating AR reporting spreadsheets.

  • Run daily credit card report in Prelude
  • Update job notes in American Contractor & Prelude of prelien filings
  • Update authorized Buyers & COI Information in Prelude
  • Process resale certificates through Avalars
  • Process prelien filings through CMA
  • Process AR refunds
  • Enter new accounts into Prelude and American Contractor
  • Update all reporting spreadsheets on AR S of current action status

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

  1. Comfortable working in a highly detail oriented, demanding office environment.
  2. Excellent mathematical skills, including application and use in problem-solving.
  3. Ability to coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.
  4. Good understanding and expression of written and verbal English sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
  5. Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  6. Bachelor’s or equivalent degree/experience combination, a plus.
  7. 2+ years of experience in the A/R credit collections field.
  8. Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
