SUMMARY: Performs daily accounting functions within Accounts Receivable Team to insure timely, proper payments from customers. Entails posting of receipts, analyzing accounts, reconciling accounts, and collecting on accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Record incoming customer payments via EFT and/or checks.
- Make collection calls to customers.
- Answer incoming customer calls.
- Problem-solve and analyze data.
- Assist and direct customers to the new payment portal.
- Responsible for the AR Aging and maintaining the aging stays clean. This will include working all accounts over 60-days on a weekly basis and
reporting to Supervisor of status. - Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude and willingness-to-help tone.
- Utilize all tools necessary to identify payment discrepancies and work with account managers to reconcile.
- Monitor customer accounts for accurate invoicing and payments.
- Update customer records and notes in each of their accounts.
- Maintain good working relationships with customers, our team, sales personnel, drivers, and management.
- Prepare documents and reports as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone and/or e-mail.
- Maintain documentation for compliance to policies and procedures for internal and external audits.
- Perform primary and secondary duties as assigned by Supervisor.

COMPETENCIES: Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, customer skill and competent computer skills in use of word, excel, outlook and eoStar software. Interpersonal skills required – relationship building, team member, and good customer service skills and ability to manage customer concerns. Attention to detail and accuracy; good organizational skills; and tenacious, with a sense of urgency.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. One (1) year progressive work experience in accounting (A/R). Past collections experience needed.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex written information and instruction. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Customers. Effective communications skill is required for position. Effective verbal, written and listening skills
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions supplied in both written and verbal format. Must be analytical, with ability to solve problems, and gather relevant data for problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
