Accounts Payable Specialist

General Purpose:

Purchases all raw materials and maintain sufficient inventory levels to support required production.  Compiles and maintains inventory records of the quantity, cost, and type of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked.  Records receipt or disbursement of inventory items and computes balance, price and cost.  Compares inventory records against physical count of inventory; makes adjustments to or investigates inaccuracies.  Prepares reports, and recommends options for defective or unusable items.  May stock and issue materials.  Track daily inventory levels in plant and warehouse.  Schedules all deliveries.  In addition, all technicians are expected to work on any assignment-determined necessary by the team or management to ensure team success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and maintains inventory records through physical counts of inventory; makes adjustments to and investigates discrepancies to ensure an accurate monthly inventory.
  • Tracks daily inventory levels in plant and warehouse and communicates potential problems and   provides possible solutions to issues.
  • Purchases all raw materials and schedule deliveries to maintain sufficient inventory levels to allow production to run 100% of schedule. 
  • Compiles and maintains inventory records of the quantity, cost, and type of material, in order to track and reduce the inventory turn rate in Ventura.
  • Works with purchasing and venders to make sure all DMRs are filled out properly and that the Ventura facility receives proper credit for all returned and defective materials.
  • Work closely with forklift drivers to ensure all materials are received counted and stored correctly to maximize storage space.
  • Works with Pepsi to develop the monthly production schedule.
  • Expected to function as an engaged employee and contribute to the site’s continuous improvement efforts.

§  Follow all DFA GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing related position.

            Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be PC literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Manufacturing background in purchasing and inventory control.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good math aptitude requires attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple situations at one time.   
  • Able to prioritize and evaluate; analysis and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.

  • N/A

Licensing and Certification:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have documentation showing legal authority to work in the United States.
