Owen Equipment Company, An Owen Company, is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team at our corporate office in Vancouver, Washington.

We are one of the largest Vactor and Elgin dealers in the United States and sell, service and rent sewer cleaners, vacuum excavators, street sweepers and related accessories. We are the largest supplier in the Western U.S. of replacement brushes and brooms for sweeping equipment. We maintain five full-service locations in Portland, Oregon; Kent, Washington; Spokane, Washington; Fairfield, California; and Salt Lake City, Utah and our customer base consists of the largest municipalities and contractors in the Western U.S. Our equipment is critical to keeping our streets and sewer systems clean, locating buried infrastructure during construction projects, and helping to build and maintain our electrical grid.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour/DOE

Our Full Benefits Package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSA, and 100% company paid Life and LTD. We have PTO that accrues weekly, seven paid holidays (eligible after 30 days from start), and 401(k) with a company match.

In this position the Accounts Payable Specialist handles all aspects of Accounts Payable. This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will be energetic, resourceful and organized and will be able to handle a high volume of tasks and be a strong problem solver.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors, reviews and processes all invoices, statements, voucher check requests, purchase orders and other documentation requesting payment to ensure the appropriate liability, expense, or capital asset general ledger account is utilized
• Apply sales tax rules
• Generate payments for manual check and electronic disbursement
• Maintain vendor relationships by resolving discrepancies and answering inquiries
• Support month end, quarter end, and year-end close
• Responsible for timely completion of the annual 1099's
• Assisting with incoming phone calls
• Work with both external and internal auditors
• Special projects and other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting is preferred
• 3-5 years prior accounts payable experience in a Company with more than 75 employees
• Prior accounts payable experience
• Prior experience with ERP systems
• Proficiency with MS Office products including Excel and Word
• Competency with 10-key
• Detail orientated
• Tactfulness for dealing with vendors, customers and other company employees
• Strong written and oral communication skills
