Job Overview:

The Accounts Payable will process invoices using Netsuite system, protect company assets by following best practice to prevent duplicate payments, evaluate processes and recommend efficiency improvements, review account statements and other reports as required, process Workday/American Express expense reports and credit cards, book month end accrual entries, research and reconcile AP related balance sheet accounts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices correctly and timely in accordance with company guidelines
  • Obtain proper invoice approval as necessary
  • Investigate any balance forward or late fees
  • Confirm the accounting coding on invoices
  • Ensure regular monthly invoices are processed
  • Review invoices for capitalization
  • Return vendor calls within 24 hours
  • Month end expense accruals
  • Month end reconciliations including intercompany accounts, RNI and other liability accounts
  • Check runs and wires or electronic payments
  • 1099 processing
  • Work with the Purchasing dept to resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies
  • Work with 3rd party processing companies
  • Maintain proper control of source documents and timely follow up on open issues
  • Required to have a strong comfort-level communicating throughout all levels of the organization
  • Understand, support and execute all work according to the established procedures of the organization
  • Implements and maintains department policies and standards
  • Project based assignments as requested

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting and minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or some college.
  • 10 key, excel, and use of different software packages-NetSuite is preferred.
  • Good math skills.
  • Familiar with general accounting practices.
  • Demonstrate time management skills
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems
  • Strong written communication and verbal skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, establish department/discipline goals and objectives for self
  • Computer literacy required; including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and eager to succeed
