Job Description:

The position is responsible for processing various types of accounts payable transactions including vendor invoices and other payment requests. The position is also responsible for vendor relations and inquiries, collections efforts with vendors, reconciliations, and research activities related to accounts payable transactions, such as dock research and vendor statements.

• Processes vendor invoices and payments using SAP and electronic workflow. The process includes preparing invoices for data entry, scanning invoices & vendor correspondence into workflow system, and processing for approvals. This involves training and implementation of online electronic workflow.

• Reviews all inputs and outputs to ensure accuracy and timeliness

• Reviews and researches all incoming calls regarding issues surrounding invoices and payments. Coordinates information and communicates with vendors and internal departments. Work closely with the dock to do research of past due ERS payments.

• Reconciles monthly vendor statements and processes monthly accruals

• Prepares monthly account reconciliations and additional reports as required.

• Assists Accounts Payable supervisor with special projects

• Executes decision making within the limits of general policies and practices

• Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements

• Provides a physical presence in the workplace.

Education Requirement: Associate Degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

• Required Experience:
• 5 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Well-developed analytical abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently.
• Well-developed interpersonal, team and partnering skills.
• Proficient personal computer skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Preferred Experience:
  • SAP System Knowledge
  • Ariba System Knowledge
