We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist. This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for timely and accurate reporting, recording journal entries, and preparing reconciliations.

Essential Functions:   

  • Perform basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, etc.
  • Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities including month-end closes and year-end audits
  • Prepare basic journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies on general ledger accounts
  • Maintain accurate records with a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
  • Ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and timely with adherence to deadlines
  • Abide by company procedures and accounting principles

 Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma required; more education generally preferred
  • General experience in accounting/bookkeeping department
  • Basic knowledge of accounting concepts (this will be tested)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated competence with ERP or Accounting software applications (i.e. Eclipse, Oracle, Great Plains, Peachtree) and general comfort with technology
