Accounting Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, examine, and accounting records, financial statements (i.e. balance sheets, income statements, etc.), and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Support controller by performing month, quarter and year end close tasks including reviewing and booking journal entries, reviewing and maintaining account reconciliation schedules, and assisting finance in actual vs budget analysis. 
  • Actively manage the relationship with the external auditors with regards to routine areas, including transactional testing, routine balance sheet accounts, financial statement tie out, etc.
  • Prepare corporate consolidation on a monthly basis for three operating subsidiaries and corporate holding company.  On a quarterly basis prepare monthly reporting requirements to lender.  On an annual basis assist with the preparation of the US GAAP basis financial statements.      
  • Assist controller with the integration of future acquisitions.  Integration includes reviewing acquired company’s contracts for accounting consequences, transitioning acquired company’s processes onto legacy processes, and incorporating acquired company into corporate consolidation.
  • Recommend opportunities to improve reporting system/processes and continuously looks for ways to automate manual processes.
  • Partner with manufacturing operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

  • Actively work with the project team on the implementation of a new ERP system at the company’s largest operating company. 
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • CPA or CMA required.
  • 5-8 years related experience, preferably in the medical device, pharma or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships across the organization.
  • Team player with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in the growth of the local office and support sister company.
  • Experience with ERP systems and preferred implementation experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to organize, present and analyze financial information.
