Accounting Manager

Position Summary

Reporting to the CFO, this position will play a critical role in TruMed’s operations.  In addition to managing the accounting team and process, the Accounting Manager will interact regularly with the CFO and other leadership.  The successful candidate will be a hands-on manager with a demonstrated track record in developing and managing teams and building solid, scalable processes and systems.  This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of TruMed’s finance team and help us drive performance through exceptional growth while benefiting from great mentoring as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting operations: manage day-to-day accounting operations and monthly closes, including responsibility for accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, revenue, expenses, check runs, taxes, leasing activity, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
  • Accounting systems: day-to-day management of NetSuite implementation and ongoing use and optimization, including continual improvements and future implementation of additional modules and plug ins.
  • Accounting data: monitor accounting data, responsibility for general ledger, subledgers, fixed asset activity, and account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Revenue assurance: review billings to ensure proper revenue and cost recognition and accuracy.
  • Financial and operational reporting: develop and update technical accounting policies; prepare financial statements; prepare monthly management operational reports and reports required by regulatory agencies, banks, investors, and other external parties.
  • Internal controls: develop, document and ensure company-wide compliance with internal controls that evolve with the Company’s growth. 
  • Leadership: manage the accounting process and team, train and develop staff.
  • Audit: coordinate and assist with annual audits.
  • Budget: develop and manage finance and accounting budget.

Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • BS in Accounting or related field.
  • Combination of public accounting audit plus industry experience highly preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • >5 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years in an equivalent position with responsibility for the quality and content of financial data, reporting and audit coordination.
  • Supervisory experience with strong people management skills is essential.
  • Software industry experience—and SaaS in particular—is preferred.
  • Experience in accounting software (NetSuite strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills are a must, including proficiency with ASC 842 and ASC 606.
