The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing one corporate business unit and interfacing with multiple remote business units. This role also serves as a consultant for managers within the organization, advising them of current budgetary information and working with managers to create a fiscal strategy that aligns with the goals of PlayCore.

Salary commensurate with experience.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions
  2. Maintain the general ledger system and chart of accounts
  3. Prepare monthly comparative financial analyses for management’s review
  4. Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  5. Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts for corporate departments, including Divisional allocations
  6. Assess internal controls for corporate accounting functions, make recommendations for improvement and develop process and procedure documents as needed
  7. Assist with year-end audit and cross-functional support within the Corporate Finance department
  8. Support the integration of new business units into financial reporting processes and systems
  9. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Education and/or Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting
  • Knowledge and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Financial Statement preparation and consolidations 
  • Experience with multi-division manufacturer preferred





Computer Skills


Candidate must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and with a mid-tier financial ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks preferred).
