Job Summary

 

The Accounting Intern is responsible for providing and supporting the Accounting and Finance department.  This position is positioned to provide a comprehensive learning experience including hands-on engagement in Accounting and Finance daily tasks and projects.  

 

Essential Job Duties

 

  • Assists with various accounting projects, which could include Fixed Assets, Taxes, General Accounting or Transactional Accounting.
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets and other financial reports utilizing Excel and Syspro.
  • Assists with reimplementation of the ERP system into Branch Accounting.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports as needed and requested.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Junior or senior-level undergraduate in the current academic program who has successfully completed Intermediate Accounting course, Graduate student with BS in Accounting preferred;
  • Some related accounting experience is preferred;
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
  • Attention to detail with a high commitment to accuracy;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required;
  • Highly organized, detailed and goal-oriented, with the ability to work under deadlines;
  • Proficient computer skills including an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word required;
  • Proficient skills in using general office equipment including desktop, telephone, printer, copier, fax, scanner, etc;
  • Ability to work core hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some overtime expected;
