The Fixed Assets Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager.  The ideal candidate should be an experienced accountant who is growth oriented and interested in assuming positions of greater responsibility within the Accounting function, as their skills and abilities progress.


To be successful in the position it is essential that the Fixed Assets Accountant be a detail-oriented, analytical, mathematically-inclined personality who is a strong individual contributor always seeking innovations and improvements.  The Fixed Assets Accountant must be able to prioritize workload across multiple functional areas while attaining efficient and exceptionally accurate results.


The following duties represent the key requirements of this position, and while very inclusive, they may be added to in future:

  • Fixed Assets Accounting
    • Maintain process to ensure all fixed asset invoices flow through a purchase order to automate the fixed asset process
    • Identify assets that need to be disposed of each period
    • Manage refurbished equipment to ensure previous asset shells have been properly disposed of and new assets capitalize in accordance with US GAAP
    • Post monthly depreciation for fixed assets
    • Review P&L activity at period end for potential capitalization
    • Prepare fixed asset schedules each period-end and reconcile to the GL
    • Maintain/provide support as needed for filing of tax returns (ie. audit documentation by county, business personal property tax renditions for required states, annual sales reports by state etc.) and annual financial statement audits
    • Liaison between Accounting and Equipment/Maintenance Departments related to all fixed asset management
    • Conduct special projects/duties as assigned
  • Lease Accounting
    • Maintain Lease Schedule in accordance with ASC 842
    • Maintain internal process to ensure lease agreements are provided to Accounting for new leases
    • Update the Lease Schedule throughout the period and record entries at the end of each period ensuring compliance with ASC 842
    • Provide monthly rent payments to AP based on Lease Schedule
    • Assist with audits and tax filings as it relates to leases


  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related Concentration
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience with fixed assets and GAAP financial reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in SAP or similar ERP system with multiple operations and cost centers
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to work within deadlines while ensuring a high level of professional standards
  • Results focused with an analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work with and support others in a positive way
