Payroll Associate
Position Summary:
Responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and provide support to the Accounting Manager with other projects and accounting department duties as needed.
Performance Expectations:
- Prepare and balance bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including deductions.
- Prepare and initiate payroll related remittances (401k, HSA, Medical, Dental, Life).
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislative requirements for the facility’s geographic locations.
- Process quarterly bonus and lump sum payments.
- Responsible for reporting necessary payroll information to complete annual audits including 401K, workers compensation insurance, and employment verifications.
- Responsible for monitoring and reviewing quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
- Responsible for year-end payroll process, including calculation of W-2 adjustments for GTL, HSA, 3rd party sick and reconciling other payroll reports.
- Maintain online accounts with various states to review and report tax status – for withholding or SUTA. Register new hires in new States when required.
- Assist accounting by providing payroll information for month end journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.
Credentials:
- A university degree or college diploma in a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum two to four years of hands-on experience in payroll processing.
- Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
