Job Overview:


Meyer Distributing is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Jasper team! Meyer Distributing is a leader in automotive specialty products marketing and warehouse distribution.

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by performing accounting, financial, or other administrative tasks.


  • Associates Degree in Accounting with relevant work experience

Experience for Accounting Assistants:

  • 1-2 years accounting experience preferred

Requirements for Accounting Assistants:

  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Must have very good written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures

Accounting Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare mailings and priority shipments for the Finance/Accounting Department
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset system to the general ledger
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
  • Prepare labels and maintain files as needed within the department
  • Prepare correspondence as needed within the department
  • Credit card transactions and payments for state license renewal and setup
  • Assist with reception and related activities, including filing, scanning, and organizing
  • Assist with departmental projects
  • Performing basic office tasks such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing mail, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned
