Job Overview:

American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC) is currently seeking an Accountant III for our Accounting Operations department.   As an Accountant III, he or she will provide accounting reconciliations and Internal/External reporting on AHFC Finance Receivable products including Consumer Loans/Leases, Wholesale, Commercial Loans, Fixed Assets and Asset Backed Securitizations. Ensures that accounting requirements are defined and executed for new programs initiated by the business or changes in accounting standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Retail/Lease and ABS Accounting - Accurate and timely monthly reconciliations of the Loan/Lease and Asset Backed Securitization portfolio. 
  • Retail/Lease and ABS Month End/Quarterly  - Creation of accurate and timely AHM Tax, Internal/External Audit and Financial Reporting schedules. 
  • System and User Acceptance Testing for System Enhancements, Document test results as required by the project as well as for internal department reference.
  • General Ledger Analytics - When performing the monthly reconciliations, analyze the GL accounts in order to detect any potential errors.  
  • Fixed Asset accounting and Accounting for Leases (lessee)
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting from a major US University
  • 5 years of experience in Accounting- Lease/Loan Accounting Preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience using Oracle/PeopleSoft and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • Intermediate to Advance Microsoft Excel Skills required
  • Detail Oriented and Excellent Communication skills
  • Familiar with Fidelity’s Auto Finance System
