Accountant I – International & Cost Accounting
Role Clarity
The Accountant I – International & Cost Accounting provides support for financial analysis and general accounting activities, including month-end close, cost tracking, and financial reporting for both domestic and international operations. This role works with teams such as Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to help gather and maintain accurate data, assist in reviewing cost variances, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts. The position partners with Accounting, Operations, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams by preparing and organizing information that helps drive analysis, ensuring teams have reliable data to support informed business decisions
So, What’s the Gig?
- Support general accounting and month‑end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance for inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing expenses.
- Assist in preparing internal financial reports and analyses while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and data integrity standards.
- Support cost accounting processes by maintaining standard costs, labor and overhead rates, and assisting with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and audits.
- Analyze and summarize cost variances (materials, labor, overhead), and collect product cost data to support cost models, margin analysis, and operational decision-making.
- Assist with scenario analysis and monitor operational changes (production, sourcing, materials) to evaluate cost and profitability impacts.
- Support accounting and financial activities for our international operation, Kreg Europe, including month‑end close, journal entries, intercompany transactions, and consolidation support.
- Prepare and analyze recurring financial reports for international operations, highlighting cost trends, variances, and key drivers.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring operational impacts (e.g., supply chain, sourcing, logistics) on international cost structures and margins.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Accounting teams to support data driven decision‑making and consistent financial reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and effective use of ERP and financial systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Coursework or internship exposure to cost accounting or manufacturing finance preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel required; ERP experience preferred.
