Norgren is part of global engineering organization IMI plc, positioned within the Precision Engineering Division.

This is an onsite role in Farmington, CT

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform standard/recurring and non-recurring journal entries for month-end close
  • Maintain general ledger with the ability to report and analyze the numbers to monitor profit closely
  • Preparing financial reports and transferring data into global reporting systems
  • Complete monthly account and intercompany reconciliations with ability to analyze and clear discrepancies 
  • Quarterly forecast preparation and reporting
  • Maintain Fixed Asset subledger; monitor open capital projects, capitalizations & disposals, depreciation of assets
  • Maintain documentation to prepare monthly sales tax and annual business property tax filings
  • Manage monthly internal control documentation requirements to ensure proper financial controls in place at all times 
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly Sales Reporting
  • Support AP processing as needed; support the accurate and timely tracking of expenses by processing invoices and allocating expenses to the appropriate accounts
  • Generate ACH, Check and Bank Wire Disbursements for the business and monitor bank accounts daily
  • Utilize ADP to access payroll reporting as needed for general ledger postings and employee information
  • Support processing for Purchasing Cards, T&E cards, and employee expense reporting activity as needed
  • Maintain and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles and ensure documentation current and accurate
  • Evaluate existing processes and, where appropriate, perform analysis to identify opportunities for further standardization, automation and cost savings
  • Support internal and external audits, as needed

Expertise required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 5+ years of experience of senior accounting experience
  • Experience in manufacturing industry, a plus
  • Experience using JD Edwards ERP a plus
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Good business acumen with ability to work with and motivate finance team and also ability to work cross functionally
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal
  • Must be able to prioritize responsibilities to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail, strong mathematical and analytical skills a must
