We are seeking a detail-oriented
Accountant with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who has supported accounting operations within a manufacturing company and understands the financial rhythms of production, inventory, and cost-based accounting.
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver reliable financial data that supports day-to-day operations and informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and support AP/AR processes
- Complete bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and account analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, with a strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures
- Assist with inventory accounting, including WIP, cost of goods sold, and production-related expenses
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for management review
- Use accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help mentor junior accounting staff as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Accounting experience within a manufacturing company is required
(cost accounting, inventory, or production-related finance experience)
- Solid understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and general ledger accounting
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation, or standard costing
- Exposure to SOX compliance and audit support
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing setting
